Call for Applications: Anodyne Magazine Creator in Residency 2026

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Anodyne Magazine Creator in Residency program — a year-long fellowship for one emerging creator who wants to grow both artistically and editorially.

This residency is part mentorship, part apprenticeship, and part creative playground. The fellow will work with our marketing intern and guest editor to put out two incredible issues in the year — and grow their own practice. Over the course of a year, the selected resident will:

✨ Publish two pieces per issue (four total in the year)

🖋 Receive ongoing mentorship from Anodyne’s Editor-in-Chief and each Guest Editor

📚 Gain behind-the-scenes experience in running a literary magazine — from submissions to launch

🌿 Join a feminist publishing community dedicated to centering FLINTA* voices in health, body, and identity

The Creator in Residence program is designed for emerging writers or artists who want to learn how literary magazines are made — and to make space for their own voice in the process. You don’t need prior editorial experience, just curiosity, reliability, and a commitment to community care.

  • Commitment: ~5–10 hours per month for one year
  • Compensation: Mentorship, publication, editorial credit, and visibility
  • Applications open: [insert date]
  • Deadline: November 15, 2025
  • Duration: Jan-Dec 2026
  • To apply: Submit a short statement (200–300 words) on why this opportunity matters to you, your CV, and 2–3 samples of your creative work (in submitted document OR linked in your statement).

Let’s make something extraordinary together.
